Violence: Two Dead, 15 Shot in Chicago Weekend Gun Violence Spree

Chicago, Illinois – Amid a weekend marred by gun violence, fifteen individuals fell victim to shootings, resulting in two fatalities, as reported by local authorities.

One tragic incident unfolded in Downtown Chicago, where a teenager lost their life after being shot in a bank parking lot. The shooting occurred on Saturday evening at the 500-block of West Roosevelt Road near Canal Street, sending shockwaves through the South Loop community.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds, both rushed to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. Tragically, a 17-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while a 15-year-old boy sustained a leg injury and was listed in fair condition.

In another devastating event on the Southwest Side of the city, one person was fatally shot while waiting at a stop sign. The incident took place late Saturday night at the 2500-block of South Trumbell Avenue in Little Village, where suspects from a white sedan opened fire on the victims’ vehicle.

The 22-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and tragically passed away at Mt. Sinai hospital, while a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg and hospitalized in fair condition. With the perpetrators still at large, Area Four detectives are actively investigating the shooting as a homicide.
