Random Attack Caught on Camera Leads to Arrest of Metro Man in Plaza District Violence

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – A man from the metro area has been incarcerated following a disturbing assault on three women in Oklahoma City’s Plaza District. The violent incident, occurring outside a bar just after midnight last Friday, was captured on camera. One of the victims had to be taken to a local hospital by EMSA due to the severity of the attack.

According to Oklahoma City police, the footage released on Wednesday depicts the harrowing moment when two unsuspecting victims were ambushed by Adam Hartico, 33, near northwest 16th and Gatewood Avenue. Sgt. Dillon Quirk of the Oklahoma City Police Department stated, “It’s unclear why exactly he chose to do this. It was a completely unprovoked thing.”

After forcibly slamming the victims’ heads together, Hartico callously proceeded to strike one of the defenseless women on the ground. Despite the courageous efforts of two bystanders who attempted to apprehend the suspect, Hartico managed to evade them.

The victims informed authorities that they suffered head injuries and memory loss as a result of the attack. Court documents revealed that the woman kicked in the face sustained a broken nose, along with severe bruising and swelling on her face. Business owners in the vicinity expressed shock and horror upon viewing the disturbing footage of the assault.

Rachael Leonhart, Executive Director of the Plaza District Association, conveyed her sympathies to the victims and their families, denouncing the senseless and random nature of the attack. She highlighted the urgent need for increased investment in mental health resources by government entities at various levels to ensure public safety in the area.

Sgt. Quirk confirmed that Hartico was identified and apprehended shortly after the assault took place. Subsequently, Hartico was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery, along with one count of assault and battery. It was also revealed that Hartico had previously attacked another woman in a Plaza District parking lot by attempting to forcibly remove her from her vehicle just hours before the subsequent assault.
