Violent Attack at Osino Presby Senior High Technical School Prompts Heavy Police Deployment and Possible School Shutdown

Osino, Ghana – In response to a violent attack that resulted in one fatality on Monday, Osino Presby Senior High Technical students (SHTS) in the Eastern region are now under heavy police deployment. The Fanteakwa South District Security Council (DISEC) has taken this action to restore calm and order in the area and ensure the safety of residents.

There are discussions between the Ghana Education Service (GES) and DISEC about the potential for a temporary shutdown of the school. This consideration is being made in light of the recent violent incident and to prevent further turmoil.

The attack reportedly stemmed from a feud between students from Nsutam Senior High Technical School and Osino SHS. A student from Nsutam SHS was passing through Osino when they were accosted by Osino students, leading to assault and robbery of the victim.

In response to the incident, the PRO of Nsuapemso, Kwadwo Isaac, and a teacher went to the OSSEC campus to address the issue. However, they were met with further aggression from OSSEC students, resulting in the destruction and burning of their vehicle.

As the investigation continues, the deceased’s body has been transported to the Police Hospital in Accra for autopsy. The authorities are working to bring those responsible for the violence to justice and to ensure the safety and well-being of the students and residents in the area.
