‘Shooting at Kansas City Super Bowl Victory Parade: Two Men Charged with Murder’

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Authorities have charged two men with murder in connection to the deadly shooting at the Super Bowl victory parade last week. The shooting resulted in the death of a woman and left 22 others injured. The incident was said to have started with an argument between the two men, Dominic Miller and Lyndell Mays. Both men were also injured during the shooting and have been charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker of Jackson County, the argument escalated when Mays drew a handgun, prompting others to also draw guns. It’s alleged that Miller, in response to the situation, fired the shots that killed Lisa Lopez Galvan. Both men are being held on a $1 million bond and are currently recovering in the hospital from their injuries sustained during the incident.

The family of the victim expressed gratitude for the arrest of the two suspects, although they acknowledged that it does not bring back their loved one. Court documents indicate that the incident began with a verbal altercation between Mays and a group of individuals, which ultimately led to the tragic shooting. Surveillance footage has also been reviewed, showing the aggressive actions of Mays and the subsequent firing of shots by Miller.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, with the possibility of further charges being brought against other individuals involved. Ultimately, the goal is to hold every shooter accountable for their actions, according to Ms. Peters Baker. The 22 individuals wounded in the incident ranged in age from eight to 47, adding to the gravity of the situation. This shooting, one of several at sports celebrations across the US in recent memory, serves as a sobering reminder of the need for increased vigilance and security at public events.
