Tragic Murder-Suicide: Lower Moreland Woman Fatally Shot by Ex-Husband in Norristown

Norristown, Pennsylvania – Tragedy struck in Lower Moreland Township as a woman was fatally shot by her ex-husband before he took his own life. The Montgomery County District Attorney, Kevin R. Steele, and Lower Moreland Township Police Chief, David J. Scirrotto, confirmed this devastating incident.

The victim, Durdona Sultanova, 43, was shot by her ex-husband, Al Allaberg, 44, in a residence in the Huntingdon Valley section of Lower Moreland Township. The authorities were notified after two young residents of the home called 911 at 4:38 p.m. Lower Moreland Police arrived at the scene to discover the bodies of Sultanova and Allaberg in a walk-in closet in the master bedroom.

Autopsies conducted by Dr. Ian Hood, a forensic pathologist with the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, revealed that Sultanova’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, ruled as a homicide. Allaberg’s cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head, ruled as a suicide.
