New York City, New York – A disturbing video footage captured a vicious attack on a teenager in Times Square by a group of nearly two dozen individuals, leaving the victim injured and hospitalized.
The 17-year-old was visiting the popular tourist spot with his friends when a group of strangers began harassing them, escalating into a violent confrontation. In the video, obtained exclusively by a local news outlet, the victim is seen being grabbed around the neck and thrown to the ground by the assailants.
The attack intensifies as several people swarm around the teen, kicking him in the head and pushing him back down to the street. A person in a yellow vest is then seen striking the victim with an object before concealing it, while bystanders pass by without intervening.
Subsequently, the teenager was surrounded by over 20 attackers who continued to kick and punch him before ultimately stabbing him in the back. Law enforcement sources reported that the victim, a resident of a migrant shelter in Queens, required stitches for his wound and was transported to the hospital, where he is expected to recover.
Following the incident, seven individuals were taken into custody by the police, with six of them being arrested and charged. It is believed that several of those facing charges reside in migrant housing. The specifics of the charges were not immediately disclosed at the time.
Authorities are still actively searching for 16 additional suspects involved in the attack. This incident is the latest in a series of violent encounters involving migrants in Times Square this year, highlighting growing concerns about safety in the area.
