LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – A 16-year-old boy is currently recovering from a brutal assault that took place at Dockweiler State Beach earlier this month. The incident involved a group of teens who reportedly beat, kicked, and stabbed the victim multiple times before robbing him. The violent attack, captured on video, shows the victim being repeatedly pummeled and stomped by five to seven other teens.
The victim, a resident of Hawthorne, was left with serious injuries, including a punctured lung and a concussion, resulting in several days in the intensive care unit. His mother, identified as Frankie, described the heartbreaking moment when doctors were unsure if her son would survive. Despite the harrowing experience, the teen managed to pull through.
According to Frankie, her son had gone to the beach to join a party that had been advertised on social media. However, a confrontation ensued when he tried to help a friend who was being harassed. The situation quickly escalated when the attackers, reportedly making racist and homophobic slurs, proceeded to stab the victim multiple times. Frankie believes the incident was a hate crime and possibly a gang initiation, based on references made by the attackers in the video.
To make matters worse, videos of the assault have been circulating in local high schools, causing further distress to the victim and his family. Frankie expressed her desire to relocate her family to ensure her son’s safety, as he faces a challenging road to recovery, both physically and mentally.
Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department have confirmed an ongoing investigation into the assault, acknowledging the video footage as evidence. In the meantime, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist the family with medical expenses and relocation costs.
