Suspected Serial Killer Raul Meza Jr. Warns Police of Additional Victims in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – Suspected serial killer Raul Meza Jr. was apprehended last May after calling the police and admitting, “I think you are looking for me,” in connection with multiple murders. Meza has been incarcerated in a Texas jail for the alleged strangulation of Gloria Lofton, 65, in 2019, and the capital murder of former probation officer Jesse Fraga, 80, in 2023. Law enforcement is investigating Meza’s potential connection to a string of as many as 10 other homicides, according to Austin police.

The investigation into Meza’s activities has led law enforcement to request access to his Google account from November 1, 2016, to May 29, 2023, in hopes of discovering evidence linking him to a 2018 Austin cold case and at least two homicides in San Antonio. Meza, who has a criminal record dating back to 1982, served time for sexually assaulting and strangling an 8-year-old girl outside an Austin elementary school. He was released on parole, but returned to prison for parole violation in 1994. Meza was finally released in 2002 and remained on parole until 2016.

There is speculation that Meza may be linked to the unsolved 2018 homicide of college student Nicole Coleman, whose naked body was discovered in a wooded area of Austin with signs of trauma. Coleman’s family has expressed concerns about the possibility that her killer is still at large, given the long-standing lack of resolution in her case.

Meza’s extensive criminal history and the ongoing efforts to connect him to additional crimes have heightened concerns about the possibility of more victims. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is diligently working to gather evidence to corroborate Meza’s involvement in the reported and potential crimes.
