Robbery Suspect Shot by Fort Worth Officer After Fleeing from Vape Shop

FORT WORTH, Texas – A 37-year-old man was shot in the leg by a Fort Worth PD officer early Sunday morning after fleeing from police following a robbery at a vape shop. The incident occurred at a 24-hour vape shop in the 6400 block of McCart Avenue around 4 a.m. when officers responded to reports of a robbery. The suspect, armed with a face mask and crowbar, was located by police three minutes after their arrival and attempted to escape through an open field behind the shopping center.

After a search, the suspect was found hiding in a backyard in the 3200 block of Fargo Court. When confronted by the officer, the suspect was shot in the leg. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was taken to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. No injuries to any other individuals were reported. As per standard protocol, the officer involved has been placed on leave pending an investigation.
