Beirut, Lebanon – Al-Mayadeen, a network affiliated with Hezbollah, recently aired a special program focusing on the pager explosions that occurred in Lebanon last September. The explosions were believed to be orchestrated by Israel, adding to the tensions in the region.
The program, titled “The Pager Massacre – Here’s What Happened,” featured interviews with three individuals who were injured during the pager operation. The episode included a somber soundtrack and footage of Nasrallah’s final speech, as well as scenes of Hezbollah militants in civilian clothing.
One of the interviewees, Hussein al-Harakeh, a member of Hezbollah, described the moment the explosion occurred, causing damage to his face, eyes, and fingers. He recounted being in a meeting at work when news of the airstrike in the village of Bleida broke. Harakeh’s poignant account shed light on the impact of the attack on both a personal and organizational level.
In addition to Harakeh’s testimony, the program also featured interviews with two children who were injured in the incident. Their accounts provided a different perspective, challenging the narrative that only Hezbollah and IRGC operatives were affected by the explosions.
Hussein Duheini, a young boy injured in the blast, shared his experience of finding the pager beeping abnormally before it exploded. Despite his injuries, Duheini expressed resilience and determination, emphasizing that the incident did not weaken him or his family’s resolve.
Another child, Ali Abbas, also shared his account of the explosion, highlighting the damage inflicted on him and his surroundings. Like Duheini, Abbas condemned Israel’s actions, labeling them as treacherous and cowardly. However, he also expressed gratitude for surviving the ordeal and spoke of his intention to fight back against Israel in the future.
Overall, the program provided a platform for those impacted by the pager explosions to share their stories and perspectives, shedding light on the human cost of such acts of violence. The interviews offered a glimpse into the lives of those affected, showcasing their resilience and unwavering commitment to their cause despite the challenges they faced.
