King Misuzulu Kazwelithin Condemns Violent Attack During Zulu Nation Celebration

Ulundi, South Africa – King Misuzulu Kazwelithin of the Zulu Nation has strongly denounced the recent violent attack that took place during the 110th Anniversary celebration of King Dinuzulu ka Cetshwayo at the KwaCeza sports field in the Zululand District Municipality.

The disturbing incident involved a group of individuals dressed in traditional attire who caused chaos and harm to innocent attendees, including children and women. The attackers, posing as Amabutho, targeted unsuspecting individuals following an altercation on stage.

Reports from Provincial Government spokesperson Bongi Gwala revealed that a total of sixteen people were injured, with some requiring medical treatment at various hospitals in the area. Among the victims was a 37-year-old woman who sustained severe head injuries and had to be transferred to Ngwelezane Hospital for specialized care.

King KaZwelithini, along with Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube and President Cyril Ramaphosa, have all expressed strong condemnation towards the violence that occurred. Premier Dube-Ncube characterized the attack as abhorrent and barbaric, stressing the nation’s dedication to eliminating political intolerance and violence. She urged law enforcement agencies to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators, emphasizing the detrimental impact such actions have on the country’s constitutional democracy.
