Infamous Murder Resurfaces: Daughter of Slain Detroit Stripper Accuses Former Mayor of Foul Play in Viral TikTok

DETROIT, Michigan – A viral TikTok video created by the daughter of a deceased Detroit stripper is reigniting interest in one of the city’s most notorious unsolved murders. Ashly Jackson, the daughter of Tamara Greene, posted a video detailing her beliefs about the circumstances surrounding her mother’s death, which has gained nearly four million views on the social media platform.

Greene’s name became widely known in Detroit after she was killed in a drive-by shooting months following a rumored 2002 party at the Manoogian Mansion, the residence of former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Jackson alleges that her mother, known as Strawberry, was having an affair with Kilpatrick at the time, leading to speculation and allegations about the events that transpired.

According to Jackson, it is widely rumored that Kilpatrick’s wife assaulted Greene at the party after allegedly witnessing Greene giving Kilpatrick a lap dance. This altercation resulted in Greene being severely injured and requiring medical assistance. In April 2003, Greene was fatally shot while sitting in a car with her boyfriend. The gun allegedly used to shoot her was a .40 caliber pistol, a standard-issue weapon for Detroit police officers.

Allegations have been made by Jackson that instead of paying her mother hush money, the mayor decided to pay off city police officers to carry out Greene’s murder. Despite being the center of a protracted legal battle, no one has been charged in connection to Greene’s death. The case resurfaced in 2019 when the popular podcast “Crimetown” covered Greene’s death, drawing national attention to the unsolved murder. The impact of the case has continued to resonate, with various individuals coming forward to share their insights and experiences related to Greene and the circumstances surrounding her untimely death.
