Dating App Ambush: Texas Man Assaulted by Armed Group after Online Meet-Up

Brownsville, Texas – A man in Brownsville, Texas fell victim to a harrowing ordeal after what was supposed to be a simple online date turned into a violent attack. The victim, identified as Ernesto Emmanuel Jimenez, was lured into a trap by a group of armed individuals, including two minors, who proceeded to assault, rob, and kidnap him.

According to reports by law enforcement officials, the incident took place on June 29 when Brownsville police responded to a call regarding an aggravated robbery. The victim had initially arranged to meet someone from a dating app, only to be ambushed by the armed suspects.

The victim recounted how he was forcibly tied up and placed in the back seat of his own vehicle by the attackers. They then took him to a secluded area, where they continued their assault before finally abandoning him in a field.

Authorities were able to identify the suspects involved in the crime, two of whom were already in custody at the time. Additional arrests were made, with 17-year-old Ernesto Jimenez being charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, engaging in organized criminal activity, and unlawful restraint. Another minor was also arrested in connection to the case.
