Charges Filed in Pennsylvania Animal Cruelty Case

NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa. — Two individuals are facing charges in Pennsylvania following an investigation into a disturbing case of animal cruelty. According to authorities, a dog was found in a home with its throat slit, prompting police to take action. The disturbing scene revealed that the dog’s head was severed, the basement was filled with maggots and feces, and the dog had been left to suffer.

28-year-old Sara Galla, who claimed she was unaware there was a dog in the home, was informed of the dog’s tragic fate upon arriving at the scene. She later admitted to caring for the dog on behalf of her roommate, 24-year-old Devon Imler, who had arranged for Galla to look after his dog while he was away at college. Imler stated that he had last seen his dog, named Myles, in August before departing for college, and claimed to have regularly checked in on the dog via FaceTime.

Further investigation revealed messages from Imler to Galla, confirming the dog’s death and the suspicious discrepancies in the pair’s statements. Additionally, a property owner living in Washington state reported that Galla had threatened her and allegedly admitted to killing Imler’s dog.

Imler has been charged with animal neglect, felony aggravated cruelty to animals, and animal cruelty, with bail set at $100,000. Galla also faces similar charges, and her bail has been set at $50,000. These disturbing allegations highlight the importance of taking proper care of animals and the legal consequences for neglecting their well-being.
