Brutal Ghaziabad Attack Sparks Outrage: Sisters and Dogs Targeted in Violent Dispute

Ghaziabad, India – A vicious assault on two sisters and their dogs in Ghaziabad has caused an uproar in the community. Poonam and Puja were attacked by their neighbors after a minor dispute escalated into violence while they were out walking their dogs, Taru and Buzzo. The argument initially started over the sisters walking their pets in the lane outside their home.

Upon returning home, the sisters believed the conflict was resolved. However, their neighbors came knocking, and a heated argument ensued as soon as the gate was opened. The situation quickly spiraled out of control, culminating in the neighbors violently attacking Poonam and Puja with a knife inside their own home.

As the sisters’ dogs attempted to protect their owners, they too became victims of the attack, sustaining injuries from the knife. Taru and Buzzo are currently receiving treatment for their severe wounds.

Law enforcement has taken action by filing a case and apprehending one of the individuals responsible for the assault. Despite this, the maximum penalty for such cruelty under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, is a mere Rs 50.

In the past decade, over 1,000 cases of animal abuse have been documented, including instances of sexual abuse, cold-blooded murder, and violent attacks involving beating, acid throwing, boiling water, and knife attacks. This horrific incident underscores the urgent need for more stringent laws to safeguard animals from such acts of violence.

The community is left grappling with the aftermath of this senseless attack, prompting discussions on how to better protect pets and animals from harm in the future. The bravery displayed by Taru and Buzzo serves as a reminder of the loyalty and courage our animal companions exhibit in times of crisis.
