Brothers Cory and Randy Rushkewich Face Preliminary Hearing for Violent Rosetown Attack

SASKATOON, CANADA – Two men, Cory Rushkewich and Randy Rushkewich, are currently in custody awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for September. The charges against them stem from a violent attack in Rosetown, where a man was left with life-threatening injuries, necessitating treatment in a Saskatoon hospital.

Cory Rushkewich, aged 33, and Randy Rushkewich, aged 29, were remanded following their court appearances in Rosetown Circuit Court in April. The incident, which occurred in November 2023, led to the charges of aggravated assault against the brothers, with Cory facing additional charges of pointing a firearm and robbery.

The altercation took place in the 1st Street West area of Rosetown, with a man stealing a cellphone from a woman and brandishing a firearm during the confrontation. The male victim was subjected to a serious assault, resulting in severe injuries that required medical attention in Saskatoon hospital. As a result, doctors had to place the victim in a medically induced coma.

While Cory Rushkewich was previously granted bail in Saskatoon court in December 2023, he was later re-arrested for breaching release conditions. In contrast, Randy Rushkewich has remained in custody since his initial arrest.

The upcoming preliminary hearing in September will shed further light on the events that transpired during the violent attack in Rosetown. The community will be looking for justice and closure as the legal proceedings progress for the Rushkewich brothers.
