Sheffield, United Kingdom – A mother received a chilling phone call from her teenage daughter, who pleaded for help after being assaulted by a 21-year-old man on Washington Road. The incident took place on July 3, 2023, when two teenage girls, aged 16 and 17, were brutally attacked by the man, identified as Cheyenne Sirvent.
Armed with a metal pole, Sirvent unleashed a violent attack on the girls outside his property, causing serious facial injuries to the 16-year-old victim, who was knocked unconscious. He then proceeded to assault the 17-year-old victim before chasing her down the street. The 16-year-old, upon regaining consciousness, was able to call her mother for help and stop a passing motorist for assistance.
As officers arrived at the scene, Sirvent was found in possession of a kitchen knife and was detained by authorities. Despite claiming that he thought the girls were attempting to burgle his property and expressing no remorse for their injuries, Sirvent later pled guilty to two counts of Section 20 Grievous Bodily Harm and possession of a bladed article and offensive weapon.
Following extensive investigative work by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and a case put forward to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Sirvent was sentenced to two years and two months in prison. Detective Constable Ashleigh Doggett, the investigating officer, expressed satisfaction with the lengthy sentence, emphasizing the long-term impact of the brutal attack on the victims and the commitment to addressing violence against women and girls.
