Assault: Portland Officials Seek Suspects in Violent Attack Leaving Man in Coma

PORTLAND, Ore. – Authorities in Portland are seeking assistance from the public to locate suspects and witnesses involved in a violent assault that took place in the Pearl District at the end of last month. The incident occurred on February 24th around 9:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Northwest 13th Avenue, where responding officers discovered a man with serious injuries. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he remained in a coma for over a week.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crimes unit suspects that the assault on the man involved up to three men and stemmed from a dispute at a classic car gathering earlier that same evening. The victim is now gradually regaining consciousness, although he continues to experience memory loss and is expected to remain hospitalized for the foreseeable future.

Described as Hispanic or Caucasian males in their 30s and weighing between 200 to 250 pounds, the suspects are possibly linked to a vintage Chevy vehicle, potentially in a grey/blue/green hue. Authorities are also on the lookout for a large white truck with vivid blue neon lights, believed to be connected to the suspects or witnesses of the assault.

An individual close to the victim, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted the traumatic incident from her perspective, highlighting the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim. She expressed concerns about the victim’s recovery process, emphasizing the potential long-term effects such as memory issues and seizures.

In light of the ongoing investigation, Portland police are urging anyone with information regarding the assault to come forward and assist in identifying the individuals involved. The community’s cooperation is crucial in bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety of the public.
