Assailant sentenced to 7.5 years for sexual attack in Hull nightclub: BBC

Hull, East Yorkshire – A man in Hull has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman outside a nightclub in the city. Shko Khdri, 28, of Walliker Street, Hull, carried out the attack on Carr Lane during the early hours of September 19, 2023. The assault was captured on CCTV footage, leading to Khdri’s subsequent arrest at his place of work, as confirmed by Humberside Police.

Khdri appeared in Grimsby Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault and was handed down his sentence. The victim managed to escape to Paragon Street, seeking refuge with a member of the public following the traumatic ordeal.

Law enforcement officers circulated an image taken from the CCTV footage, leading to Khdri’s arrest just three days after the assault. Following the court’s decision, Detective Sergeant Bethany Sergeant described Khdri as a sexual predator and expressed satisfaction in seeing him held accountable for his reprehensible actions.

Sergeant commended the victim for her courage throughout the investigation and legal proceedings. She hoped that the outcome would bring some solace to the victim, knowing that Khdri would no longer pose a threat to others. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of reporting such incidents promptly and the dedication of law enforcement agencies in ensuring justice for victims of sexual assault.
