Zainab Jamil Attack: Five Suspects Apprehended in Ongoing Investigation

Lahore, Pakistan – Law enforcement officials in Lahore, Pakistan, have made significant strides in the investigation surrounding the violent attack on Zainab Jamil, a well-known model and salon owner. Recently, five individuals were apprehended as suspects in connection to the incident, shedding light on the roles each played.

SP Cantt Owais Shafiq disclosed that the arrests were a result of thorough investigation and intelligence work. One of the arrested individuals, identified as Zia, was responsible for providing the motorcycle and weapons used in the assault. Additionally, Adeel, who worked as Zainab’s driver, played a key role by informing her husband, Sardar Jamil, about her whereabouts, ultimately facilitating the attack.

Prior to the attack, Zainab had spoken out about the abuse she faced during her marriage, shedding light on the challenges she endured. SP Shafiq revealed that Zia not only supplied the necessary equipment but also facilitated the movement of the shooters to and from the crime scene.
The gunmen who carried out the attack had traveled from Karachi to Lahore, with efforts underway to track them down. A police team has been dispatched to Karachi in pursuit of the shooters, aiming to apprehend them and bring them to justice.

Currently, Sardar Jamil, Zainab’s husband, is out on bail until the end of June. Investigations have revealed significant financial transactions between Jamil and Zia, totaling approximately Rs5.5 million, leading authorities to explore possible motives behind the attack.

Married in 2017, Zainab and Sardar Jamil’s relationship had reportedly soured over her career in the entertainment industry, potentially contributing to the events that transpired. The search for the two shooters continues as law enforcement agencies strive to hold all responsible parties accountable for the violent attack.
