Woman Violently Assaulted and Robbed of Purse in Southern California Incident Leads to Community Outrage and Support

San Fernando, California – A recent violent assault and robbery of a woman in the San Fernando area has shocked the community. The incident occurred on April 15 in broad daylight, just before 3 p.m. The victim, Juliana Murillo, had just purchased a bouquet of flowers for her mother’s birthday when she was attacked from behind outside her apartment building on Park Avenue.

The assailant violently knocked Murillo down, causing her to hit her head on the door. Despite the shock and confusion, she bravely resisted as the man forcibly took her purse, which contained her car keys, credit cards, and identification. The suspect then fled in a dark-colored vehicle, leaving Murillo with injuries and a shattered sense of security.

Neighbor Martin Aviles witnessed the incident and spotted the man’s getaway vehicle, but was unable to identify the license plate. Residents confirmed that the suspect was unfamiliar to the neighborhood. Murillo later discovered that the attacker attempted to use one of her credit cards to access a PayPal account.

This assault comes shortly after a separate violent attack on a woman in Pasadena, where an armed man forced her into a car at knifepoint and sexually assaulted her. Despite the trauma, the victim in that case managed to fight back and escape. The suspect is still at large.

Following the assault, the community has shown support for Murillo as she bravely speaks out to raise awareness and prevent similar incidents. She encourages vigilance and unity within the community to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents. Fortunately, the remnants of Murillo’s purse were recovered and returned to her.
