Woman shot, killed at Chicago-area nightclub

STONE PARK, IL – A tragic night at Mansion Nightclub ended with the death of a young woman, leaving her family devastated and raising questions about security practices at the venue. Zulma Daniella Calderon Pacheco, 21, was enjoying a night out with friends when an altercation erupted, ultimately leading to her untimely death.

Calderon Pacheco was an innocent bystander when a security guard, employed by the nightclub, intervened in a fight and fired his weapon, striking her in the face. She had no involvement in the dispute that led to her death, according to her family. Her boyfriend, Joel Chimborazo, who was with her at the time, expressed his profound grief, saying he would miss her constant presence in his life.

The incident occurred on Friday night, following an argument between two individuals. Witnesses reported that the situation escalated, resulting in a group of men attacking one of the initial participants. A former security employee of the club, Jesse Morales, noted that firearms were not permitted for security personnel at the venue, raising concerns about the guard’s actions.

This is not the first time tragedy has struck at Mansion Nightclub. Five years ago, another young life was lost within its walls. Residents of the neighborhood have long considered the club a problematic presence, often associated with disturbances and police activity.

The nightclub management expressed their sorrow over the incident on social media, stating their cooperation with local authorities during the investigation. Meanwhile, Calderon Pacheco’s family is left to mourn, gathering in their Little Village apartment, surrounded by memories of their beloved daughter and sister.

Calderon Pacheco, the eldest of five siblings, worked at a local Popeyes and was cherished by those who knew her. As the investigation continues, questions remain regarding the security protocols in place at the nightclub and the circumstances that led to the shooting. Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody, but the community seeks answers and justice for a life cut short.
