Woman Indicted in Fatal Cleveland Shooting on Public Roadway

Cleveland, Ohio – A Cleveland woman faces charges related to a fatal shooting following a car chase last month. Trinity Ford, 19, has been indicted by a Cuyahoga County grand jury on counts of murder, felonious assault, and discharging a weapon on a public roadway. Ford, set to be arraigned in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, is currently held on a $1 million bond.

Authorities have linked Ford to the car chase that resulted in the death of Antwoina Carter, 26, who was fatally shot while driving on East 105th Street. Although Ford was behind the wheel, the shooter remains at large. Carter succumbed to a gunshot wound to her back, suffering severe injuries to her heart and spine. The police officers present at the scene were responding to a previous disturbance complaint at Carter’s mother’s home.

Following the incident, law enforcement officers fired shots at Carter’s vehicle, prompting an investigation by Cuyahoga County sheriff’s deputies due to police involvement. An indictment against Ford includes a firearm specification that could potentially increase her prison sentence if convicted. This specification pertains to firing a weapon from a motor vehicle.

While the details of the case continue to unfold, Ford’s legal representation, Thomas Shaughnessy, refrained from providing any comments at this time. The tragic events that led to Carter’s untimely death have left the community seeking justice and closure. As the case progresses, all involved parties await the forthcoming legal proceedings to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
