Violent Middle School Watch List Uncovered by FWPD with Threats of School Violence

Fort Worth, Texas – Police in Fort Worth are looking into a troubling and violent document that targeted numerous students and teachers in the Northwest Independent School District with threats of violence. The district promptly took action to ensure the safety of those named in the document.

Additional safety personnel from the Northwest ISD and Fort Worth police conducted patrols at Wilson Middle School in Haslet following the discovery of an online list singling out specific individuals at the school. While the district reported two arrests made by local authorities, Fort Worth PD later clarified that no arrests had actually been made.

Officials from the school district informed parents about the situation, stating that they are in the process of notifying families of students who were on the list. The language used in the document reportedly resembled threats seen at other schools nationwide.

The document, referred to as a “watch list,” contained the names of 32 people at Wilson Middle School, including both students and staff. It outlined plans for an attack on individuals at the campus and bore similarities to threats previously made at schools across the country.

Parents of students at the school expressed concerns about the situation, with one parent sharing her frustration over the lack of communication and transparency from school administrators. The district assured parents that all individuals involved in creating or editing the document would face consequences in accordance with the law.

A parent, Aziah Haswell, revealed that her eighth-grade son had initially been suspended for three days after authorities found that he had viewed the document. However, the suspension was later revoked after it became clear that the student was unaware of the document’s content.

The district disclosed that two students linked to the creation and editing of the document have been identified. Meanwhile, student Terrance Clark revealed that the watch list had been circulating for several months, causing fear and unease among students and staff.

As investigations continue, Fort Worth PD stated that multiple suspects have been identified, and efforts are underway to gather additional information. The district emphasized that serious misconduct allegations, like terroristic threats, typically result in a three-day suspension for students.

Given that the individuals involved are minors, the names of any middle school students facing potential arrest will not be made public. Authorities are working diligently to address the situation and ensure the safety of everyone within the school community.
