Bushmills, Co Antrim – A man in his twenties was found with severe injuries after being nailed to a fence in what authorities have described as a disturbing incident. This violent assault, accompanied by the torching of two vehicles in Bushmills during the early hours of Sunday, has shocked the small village near the Giant’s Causeway.
This marks the third violent attack within a year in the area, raising concerns among residents. The victim was discovered with both hands nailed to a fence, while two vans, including one belonging to the injured man, were set on fire in a nearby car park. Graffiti found on public toilets nearby has been linked to the assault and arson.
The injured man, who also sustained injuries to his nose, was promptly hospitalized but fortunately, his injuries are not deemed life-threatening. However, the severity of the attack has left the local community in shock, especially given the proximity to holiday lets that would be bustling during the bank holiday weekend, as noted by the police.

Alliance North Antrim MLA Sian Mulholland expressed her shock and emphasized the need for a swift recovery for the victim, condemning the brutality of the attack. TUV leader Jim Allister echoed similar sentiments, expressing dismay at the cruel nature of the assault in the village.
