Mohali, India: A simple dispute over the placement of a vegetable cart escalated into a vicious attack on two brothers in Kumbran village, Sector-68. The incident led to the registration of a case of attempted murder against five suspects by the local police.
The FIR was filed at Phase-8 police station based on the statement of Kamalpreet Singh, one of the victims. Among the identified accused is Rubal, a resident of the area, while the identities of the other attackers remain unknown. The case includes charges under various sections of local law, such as voluntarily causing grievous hurt, intentionally attacking with dangerous weapons, attempted murder, rioting, and unlawful group attack.
The brutal incident took place on a Tuesday night when Kamalpreet Singh, who operates a vegetable cart in the area, was suddenly ambushed by Rubal and his four accomplices armed with sharp weapons. Hearing his brother’s cries, Kamaljeet Singh, who runs a fast food cart nearby, rushed to help but was also brutally attacked.
Following the assault, Kamalpreet suffered serious head injuries requiring 12 stitches, while Kamaljeet received a deep wound on his leg needing six stitches. The assailants fled the scene in a vehicle, leaving behind a shocked community that quickly gathered to assist the injured brothers and transport them to Phase-6 hospital.
Local authorities have since launched a search operation to locate and apprehend the remaining attackers involved in the violent altercation. Reports indicate that the root cause of the incident was a prior dispute over the positioning of the vegetable cart, highlighting the dangerous consequences that can arise from seemingly innocent disagreements.
The police are actively pursuing leads to ensure justice is served in this case, emphasizing the importance of peaceful resolution and the prevention of such senseless acts of violence.
