Ukrainian Cities Hit by Mass Missile Attack, Casualties Reported

KYIV, Ukraine – Russian forces launched a fresh wave of missile attacks on cities across Ukraine on Wednesday, with explosions reported in Kyiv and Mykolaiv. One person was killed in Mykolaiv and at least six people were injured in the capital. The attack prompted an air raid alert just before 6 a.m., with two loud explosions heard in the city center shortly after.

Amid the attack, Kyiv authorities confirmed that air defenses were activated, and emergency services were dispatched to affected districts. Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged residents to remain in shelters until the all-clear was given. In addition to the casualties and damage, the attack also resulted in power outages in parts of the city due to damage to high-voltage lines.

The missile strikes were not limited to Kyiv, as explosions were also reported in Kharkiv, and missile activity was being tracked across the country. The attacks prompted Poland to scramble aircraft as some of the missiles were initially headed towards its airspace.

The all-clear was eventually given, bringing an end to the latest round of attacks. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has continued to escalate, with citizens in these cities facing the ongoing threat of further violence.
