Tragic:Houston Couple Charged in Connection to Death of Twin Infants

Houston, Texas – Charges have been brought against a man and woman in connection to the tragic deaths of twin infants that occurred in October 2023. Angelina Belinda Calderon and Fernando Vega, both 21 years old, are facing charges of injury to a child-serious bodily injury in this heartbreaking case.

The Houston Police Department responded to a residence on Linden Creek Lane after receiving reports of two unresponsive infants. The infants, later identified as Massail and Mirena Vega, were found in their crib by their father, Vega, who immediately called for help. Despite efforts to perform CPR, the twins, who had been born prematurely, unfortunately did not survive.

Following an autopsy, it was determined that the infants died from multiple injuries caused by a blunt object. Authorities reported that the infants had not received necessary check-ups since leaving the hospital and had been sick without receiving medical attention. This discovery led to the arrest of Calderon and Vega as suspects in the case.

Family members of Calderon and Vega expressed shock and disbelief at the events that unfolded. Calderon’s sister defended her as a devoted mother and claimed that she was at work when the tragedy occurred. However, others shared concerns about possible abuse within the relationship and the neglect that the infants had suffered.

Authorities revealed that the infants displayed signs of malnourishment and had sustained injuries over an extended period. These disturbing details have prompted a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the infants’ deaths and the actions of Calderon and Vega in the days leading up to the tragedy.

As the legal proceedings continue, the community remains shaken by the loss of these young lives and demands justice for Massail and Mirena Vega. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting and ensuring the well-being of vulnerable children in our society.
