MUNCIE, Ind. — The Delaware County community is in mourning following the tragic death of a sheriff’s deputy who was struck by a vehicle while assisting a motorist on Wednesday. Corporal Blake Reynolds, a four-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, died after his patrol car was hit while he was outside providing assistance to a stranded truck driver on Interstate 69.
According to investigators, Reynolds had positioned his vehicle behind a disabled semi-truck to offer protection when another northbound truck lost control.
