Tragedy Strikes: Child Killed and Three Injured in Delta Township Vehicle Attack and Shooting

DELTA TWP, Mich. — A tragic incident on Friday left a child dead and three adults injured when a pedestrian family was targeted by a suspect who struck them with a vehicle before opening fire, authorities reported.

The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Green Meadows and Farmstead Lane. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered four victims and initiated immediate life-saving measures while searching for the suspect responsible for the violent attack.

Law enforcement later apprehended the suspect, with assistance from the Michigan State Police. He is currently in custody at the Eaton County Jail, awaiting potential charges to be filed by the Eaton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Initial investigations indicate that the suspect drove into a family walking in the area before exiting his vehicle and discharging a firearm. A bystander who stepped in to assist was also attacked, sustaining serious injuries.

A young child was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 37-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were hospitalized but listed in stable condition. A 72-year-old woman remains in critical condition, receiving necessary medical attention.
