Threatening Middle School Attack Document Leads to Felony Charges for Third Student

FORT WORTH, Texas – Authorities in a far north Fort Worth middle school have recently charged a third student in connection with creating and editing an online document detailing a planned attack against students and staff. This troubling revelation led to a comprehensive investigation by Northwest Independent School District officials, uncovering alarming details about the potential threat to Wilson Middle School.

Following a tip from a concerned parent on May 1, officials discovered the unsettling document outlining plans to attack the school, naming 25 students and seven staff members as targets. Prompt action was taken by the district, resulting in the arrest of two students with pending felony charges. Subsequently, a third student was also found to be involved in the creation of the threatening document, leading to charges of felony terroristic threat for all three students.

In response to these concerning developments, the Northwest ISD Discipline Management Plan dictates that students charged with a felony terroristic threat may face placement in the District Alternative Education Program. The safety measures implemented by the school district include conducting threat assessment reviews before allowing students involved in terroristic threats to return to campus. Additionally, armed security guards will actively monitor the school premises to ensure the safety of students, staff, and parents.

With a focus on maintaining a secure learning environment, counselors will be available to provide support at Wilson Middle School. Absences resulting from safety concerns have been excused for students who chose to stay home during this period. To enhance security measures, individuals are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to school administrators and staff, with the option of making anonymous reports through the district’s tip line.

Northwest ISD, serving students in far north Fort Worth and surrounding communities, remains committed to ensuring a safe educational environment for all its students. By taking proactive steps and implementing additional security measures, officials aim to reassure the school community that safety remains a top priority within the district.
