Police said the suspect tried to flee when detectives found him Monday evening.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday evening after Indianapolis police said he was connected to a fatal April shooting that left Robert Golliday dead on Radnor Road.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested Terrence Francois in the 8200 block of Spyglass Drive. Police said he is accused in the death of Golliday, 22, who was shot April 15 on the city’s northeast side.
The case began when officers were sent to the 5900 block of Radnor Road shortly before 7:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Golliday with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Detectives continued the investigation for nearly three weeks before locating Francois. Police said Francois attempted to flee when members of the Violent Crimes Unit found him. Officers caught him and took him into custody.
Authorities have not publicly released a motive in the shooting. Police also have not said what evidence led detectives to Francois. The arrest marks a key step in the case, but investigators said their work is not finished.
Francois faces a murder allegation as the case heads to prosecutors for formal review. Court proceedings will determine the next steps, including hearings and any final charges filed in Marion County.
The investigation remains active after Francois’ arrest, police said.
