Witnesses reported an argument before gunfire at The Henry at Woodland Hills.
HUMBLE, Texas — Harris County homicide detectives are investigating after a 20-year-old man was found fatally shot Thursday night at an apartment complex in the Humble area, where a teenage girl later returned to the scene.
Deputies were called about 9:15 p.m. to The Henry at Woodland Hills apartments on Woodland Hills Drive. They found the man unresponsive with a gunshot wound, and emergency medical workers pronounced him dead at the complex.
Investigators said witnesses described hearing an argument between a man and a woman before shots were fired. A dark-colored vehicle was seen leaving the area after the shooting. While deputies were processing the scene, a 17-year-old girl arrived in a dark vehicle and said she had been present when the shooting happened.
Sgt. Pinkins with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the teen and the victim were dating. Deputies arrested the girl after saying they believed she was connected to the shooting. Officials did not immediately release her name or the victim’s name Friday morning.
Detectives were still working to confirm the full sequence of events, including what happened before the reported argument and whether others were nearby when the gunfire occurred. The sheriff’s office had not announced additional suspects.
The investigation continued Friday in northeast Harris County. The next steps include formal case review by homicide detectives and a decision on any charge tied to the teen’s arrest.
