Teen Faces Custody for Breaching Bail Terms in Dublin Restaurant Deaths Case

Dublin, Ireland – A 17-year-old boy in Dublin, Ireland, accused of engaging in violent disorder at a restaurant where two deaths occurred on Christmas Eve, has repeatedly violated his bail terms nine times. The teenager, whose identity is protected due to his minor status, faces the possibility of custody for the breaches.

Tristan Sherry died from blunt force trauma to the head after the shooting of Jason Hennessy Sr at Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown. Jason Hennessy Sr passed away 11 days later in the hospital, stemming from the incident.

In January, the Gardai charged the teenager with violent disorder for allegedly using or threatening violence at the restaurant on December 24th. The court noted a need for further investigation and a potential for additional charges.

During a hearing at Dublin Children’s Court, concerns were raised about the teenager’s repeated bail breaches. The defense advocated for a warning instead of stricter conditions, which was ultimately accepted. The case was adjourned for six weeks as the investigation continued.

Apart from the teenager, six other individuals are facing charges in connection to the incident. The authorities highlighted the importance of upholding bail terms and ensuring compliance with legal obligations to maintain order in the legal process.
