Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 44-Year-Old Woman in New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, CT – Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a 44-year-old woman and the injury of two others in a North Street apartment on Saturday night. Antoine Harris, 44, was taken into custody at the residence where he resided, and has been charged with the shooting incident. The deceased victim was identified as Sabrina Finch.

Harris faces charges of murder, two counts of first-degree assault, criminal use of a weapon, and criminal possession of a pistol. He is being held on a $1.8 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. According to Deputy Police Chief Adam Rembisz, the shooter had a “dating relationship” with the woman who was killed and had been living at the residence. After the shooting, the shooter fled the scene before the arrival of officers.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two other gunshot victims are in stable condition after receiving treatment at a local hospital. Rembisz emphasized that the shooting was not a random act of violence and that there is no known danger to the public. Both state police and the state attorney’s office are collaborating with local officers to investigate the shooting incident.
