Stabbing Suspect Faces Arraignment in Fatal Attack on North Olmsted Boy

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A tragic incident unfolded at a Giant Eagle parking lot in North Olmsted, resulting in the death of three-year-old Julian Wood after a brutal stabbing on June 3. The alleged attacker, Bionca Ellis of Cleveland, is set to face arraignment in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas on Monday for the heinous crime that shocked the community.

Julian was with his mother, Margot, at the time of the attack, which also left her injured but thankfully alive. The North Olmsted police quickly apprehended Ellis minutes after the assault, recovering the knife believed to have been used in the tragic incident.

According to authorities, Ellis reportedly stole two knives from a nearby thrift store before entering the Giant Eagle. She then targeted the victims as they exited the store, fatally stabbing Julian while he sat in a shopping cart.

Margot, in a heartbreaking attempt to save her child, was also stabbed during the chaotic and senseless attack. The community mourned the loss of young Julian, holding a funeral in his honor on June 8.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley expressed his condolences to the grieving Wood family, promising to pursue justice for Julian and his loved ones. The charges against Ellis include aggravated murder, murder, attempted murder, endangering children, tampering with evidence, and misdemeanor theft.

As the investigation unfolds, North Olmsted authorities believe the attack to be a random act of violence, sending shockwaves through the close-knit community and beyond. The tragic loss of young Julian Wood serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the devastating impact of senseless acts of violence.
