Spartanburg County Shooting Victim Dies: Authorities Continue Search for Suspect

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A victim of a shooting on Kingswood Avenue in Spartanburg County has passed away, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office. Larry Gene Moore, a resident of Spartanburg, died while at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on Tuesday.

The shooting took place on December 21, 2023, leaving Moore and another individual injured. Deputies from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at around 5:57 p.m. after receiving a call about the incident.

Upon arrival, deputies found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. Witnesses informed the authorities that the shooter was a man who had been brought to the house earlier in the day by one of the victims. The suspect fled the scene, and despite efforts to track him with K9s, the sheriff’s office was unable to locate him.
