Sister Finds Brother Dead Inside Northwest Houston Mobile Home

A sister and neighbor found the man after relatives could not reach him, police said.

HOUSTON, Texas — A suspicious death investigation is underway after a man was found dead Monday inside a residence at a northwest Houston mobile home community, Houston police said.

The death was reported at the Chrystell Mobile Homes Community in the 4600 block of Chrystell Lane. Police said firefighters were first called to the location for a deceased person report, then asked officers to respond after finding suspicious circumstances inside the home.

According to police, relatives had not been able to contact the man throughout the day. One of his sisters later went to the residence and entered with help from a neighbor. They found the man’s body inside, prompting a response from homicide detectives.

The man had not been publicly identified Monday. Police said the exact cause of death was still unknown and would be determined by the medical examiner’s office. Investigators also said no weapon had been found as of their initial briefing.

The Houston Police Department Homicide Division is leading the case. Detectives were expected to continue gathering evidence from the home, speaking with witnesses and waiting for the medical examiner’s report before deciding what additional steps are needed.

No arrests had been announced Monday, and police had not released a suspect description or motive.
