SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 60-year-old man earlier this month outside his home on Brookwood Avenue. The police believe the suspects have ties to the victim, Mark Calcagni, who was discovered deceased in the street on Oct. 3.
Calcagni was reportedly found by a neighbor around 6:30 a.m., prompting an immediate call to emergency services. Following a detailed inquiry by the Violent Crimes Investigations Team, authorities uncovered evidence against two local residents aged 43 and 25, identifying them as the primary suspects in the homicide.
Both suspects were said to have previously worked at an adult nightclub in San Francisco where Calcagni served as the general manager. Police indicated their investigation relied on witness statements, surveillance camera footage, and digital information, although specific details about this evidence have not been disclosed.
Calcagni is remembered as the general manager of the Condor Club, a historic strip club known for being the first of its kind in the United States. The police’s description of the crime suggests a premeditated act, indicating that the male suspect allegedly waited for Calcagni’s arrival home before opening fire, while the female suspect purportedly assisted in planning the attack.
Law enforcement apprehended the male suspect at a residence in Dublin, where he is believed to have lived with the female suspect. She was taken into custody shortly thereafter at San Francisco International Airport as she returned from an overseas trip.
As the investigation continues, the Santa Rosa Police Department is urging anyone with additional information to come forward. Individuals can reach out to the Violent Crimes Investigations Team directly or submit anonymous tips through the department’s website.
Authorities are working diligently to piece together the motivations behind this violent incident. The loss of Calcagni, a figure known within the nightlife community, has left many in shock and mourning as they await further developments in the case.
