Shooting Rampage Leaves Woman and Child Dead in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Allentown, Pennsylvania – A tragic series of events unfolded in Allentown, Pennsylvania, resulting in the deaths of a woman and a child, with six others injured in three separate shootings, according to local authorities.

The first shooting occurred late Friday evening on Chestnut Street, where officers responded to reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered a 1-year-old baby boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a 66-year-old man all suffering from life-threatening injuries. Tragically, the woman and child did not survive, with the Lehigh County Coroner ruling their deaths as homicides. The man was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Just moments later, another shooting took place on Ridge Avenue, where a man and a woman were found with serious gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital and are expected to survive. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Demitrius Bashir Campbell, was apprehended at the scene and now faces charges related to the incident.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, authorities responded to a shooting at a bar on Hanover Avenue, where a man was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, along with two other men who arrived separately with gunshot wounds. Thankfully, all three are expected to recover from their injuries.

Despite the close timing of these three incidents, Allentown Police do not believe they are connected. State Rep. Joshua Siegel expressed his condolences for the victims and frustration over the ongoing gun violence plaguing the city. He stands in solidarity with the community and law enforcement in seeking justice for those affected by these senseless acts of violence.
