Shooting: Port Huron Woman Charged with Open Murder Following Gas Station Tragedy

PORT HURON, Mich. — A woman from Port Huron has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting incident that occurred last week at a local gas station. The shooting took place on Monday, Oct. 13, at approximately 4:31 p.m. in the 1300 block of Military Street.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when multiple 911 calls reported the gunfire. Upon arrival, police discovered a 30-year-old man from Detroit suffering from serious gunshot wounds. Emergency responders provided immediate medical care and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Amber Oile, was apprehended at the scene without any reported complications. Following her arrest, she was charged with open murder and felony firearm offenses.

Oile’s legal proceedings are set to unfold soon, with a probable cause conference scheduled for Oct. 28 and a preliminary examination slated for Nov. 4. The probable cause conference allows the prosecution and defense to discuss the details of the case and establish future court dates. At the preliminary examination, a judge will assess whether there is sufficient evidence to advance the case to a higher court.
