Shooting at Underground New Year’s Party in Los Angeles Leaves 2 Dead, 8 Injured

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Two individuals lost their lives while eight others sustained injuries in a shooting at an underground New Year’s party in downtown Los Angeles early Monday morning. The incident took place at a commercial building on Porter Street, and officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene shortly after 12:50 a.m.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers heard gunshots coming from the vicinity of Santa Fe Avenue and Porter Street. A large crowd of people was observed fleeing the area on foot shortly afterward. Multiple victims with gunshot wounds were discovered on the street and sidewalk on Porter Street. Tragically, a man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene, and eight others were injured, most of whom were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

According to investigators, the victims were attending a New Year’s Eve celebration at an underground party when a dispute erupted among some of the partygoers, ultimately leading to the gunfire. No further details were provided about the potential suspect(s) involved, and the identities of the deceased individuals have not been disclosed.
