Shooting at Mississippi Club Leaves One Dead: Suspect Arrested

Carroll County, Mississippi – Tragedy struck the small community of Coila in Carroll County, Mississippi when a fatal shooting occurred in a local club’s parking lot. The incident, which took place late on a Thursday night, resulted in the death of Jaheim Montreal Walker, a young 20-year-old man.

According to reports, deputies swiftly responded to the scene following the shooting, where they found Walker unresponsive. Despite their efforts to revive him through CPR before the arrival of Medstat, Walker tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Constable Travis Gatewood, who happened to be inside the establishment at the time of the shooting, was alerted by witnesses who rushed inside to report the incident. Upon reaching the parking lot, Gatewood was informed by witnesses that Reginald Cortez Lindsey, a 40-year-old individual, was the suspected shooter. Gatewood wasted no time in locating Lindsey and placing him under arrest.

Following the initial arrests, deputies diligently collected evidence, interviewed witnesses, and thoroughly investigated the scene of the crime. Their efforts eventually led to the interrogation of Lindsey at the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility, where he was formally charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm as a felon.
