Shooting at CityPlace Doral Leaves One Dead, Multiple Injured, Including Police Officer

Doral, Florida – In a tragic incident at CityPlace Doral, one person has been killed and seven others injured, including a police officer, in a shooting, authorities confirmed.

According to Miami-Dade Police Information Officer Alvaro Zabaleta, the shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. during a dispute at the Martini Bar at CityPlace Doral when a security guard tried to intervene.

The situation escalated when the shooter pulled out a firearm and shot and killed the security guard, leading to chaos and police presence at the scene.

City of Doral officials reported that one of their officers was shot in the lower extremity and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The officer was one of two Doral officers who discharged their weapons during the incident.

Tragically, the shooter was also killed at the scene, as captured in videos showing police activity and emergency responders at CityPlace Doral.

In addition to the casualties mentioned, six bystanders were also injured in the shooting, including two women and four men. Both a man and a woman were listed in critical condition after being transported to the hospital.

Following the incident, a man with a bandaged hand was seen arriving in an ambulance, adding to the grim aftermath of the shooting that unfolded in the early morning hours.

This violent event comes just a year after the Doral Police conducted an active shooter drill as a preventive measure to train their officers for such unforeseen circumstances, highlighting the importance of preparedness in emergency situations.
