Shooter on the Run after Fatal Gas Station Shooting in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Nashville Police are on the hunt for a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning. The victim, 37-year-old Michael Robinson from Memphis, was shot and killed while sitting in a white Jeep at a gas station on Lafayette Street.

Homicide Unit detectives revealed that a group of men near a white Chevrolet Malibu had a brief altercation with the driver of the Jeep. Surveillance footage captured one of the men, wearing a shirt with visible wording and smoking a cigarette, opening fire as the Jeep started to drive away.

The Jeep accelerated and crashed into the side of the market, resulting in Robinson’s death. He was one of five occupants in the vehicle. Another passenger sustained injuries but is expected to recover.

The shooter fled the scene in a black Nissan sedan. Authorities are encouraging individuals with any information to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Tipsters have the option to remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
