After the Federal Bureau of Investigation found six additional classified documents in President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, Democratic Senator Chris Coons of Delaware downplayed the scandal. Claiming this is not at the top of American voters’ list of concerns.
Coons stated in an interview with the media that he does not believe this matter keeps Americans up at night and that people are more concerned about day-to-day concerns like inflation and prescription medicine prices.
It was reported that federal agents descended on Biden’s Delaware home on January 20 and spent 12 hours looking through the Big Guy’s stuff during a ‘planned, consensual search’ of what Biden’s personal attorney, Bob Bauer, said is all working, living, and storage spaces in the home.
The operatives obtained six classified documents that dated back to Biden’s time serving in the Senate of the United States.
Even though the White House of President Joe Biden had stated formerly that all classified documents had been turned over, Coons believes the discovery of additional materials should not in any way be compared to the documents that were discovered at the Mar-a-Lago estate of former President Donald Trump.
According to Coons, one distinctive document makes all the difference in the world.
He claimed, with enough spin to make one nauseous, that one crucial document differentiates former President Trump from President Biden; a warrant.
Documents were obtained from Mar-a-Lago after an FBI, a non-consensual, warrant-driven search; yet, former President Trump still maintains he is above the law and has the authority to remove any documents he wants from the White House.
Naturally, Coons omitted that, in contrast to the previous President, Biden could not declassify anything during his time as Vice President and certainly not during his time as a Senator. Therefore, he had no excuse to store classified documents in his garage.
Coons stated that the only political fallout Americans will feel from this astonishing breach is the time they wasted discussing the documents rather than talking about what a great leader they have in Biden. This statement was made in response to a new news poll that showed that 64% of Americans believe that Biden acted inappropriately in his handling of classified materials.
Coons continued to say that he believes this will result in people talking about this topic rather than President Biden’s leadership on confronting Russian aggression in Ukraine or talking about things weighing heavily on people’s minds, such as the potential default on the nation’s debt. The political repercussions of this are going to require attention and focus.
Coons’s takeaway from a scandal this huge may leave many feeling this will be the end of any 2024 aspirations Biden may be entertaining.
