Rome Parents Killed, Children Injured in Alabama ATV Disaster

CHEROKEE COUNTY, AL – Tragedy struck at Indian Mountain ATV Park when a devastating accident claimed the life of Marcus Ragland, 34, and left his partner, Ashley Hawkins, along with their children injured. The incident has left the local community grieving and in shock.

Ragland and Hawkins were riding an ATV with their seven children when the vehicle collided with another ATV, causing it to overturn and crash into a tree. Ragland was thrown from the vehicle and died from his injuries. Hawkins is currently hospitalized as she recovers.

The children, all siblings, suffered various injuries. Their 13-year-old son was the most seriously hurt, while their 10-year-old daughter and 2-year-old child also sustained significant injuries.

In the wake of this heartbreaking event, family and friends are rallying to support the survivors. “Marcus was full of life, always embracing every moment,” a family member said, recalling his vibrant spirit.

The lack of safety regulations at the ATV park has raised concerns. Authorities are urging riders to take personal responsibility and ensure proper safety measures are in place to prevent future accidents.

An online fundraiser has been set up to assist with the family’s medical expenses and other needs. The community is encouraged to contribute and extend their support during this difficult time.

As the community comes together, the memories of Marcus and Ashley continue to resonate. Their legacy of love and joy will be cherished by all who knew them.
