WASHINGTON – A man was shot by a gunman after complying with demands to turn over his belongings during an armed robbery in the District on Saturday night.
The incident took place around 9 p.m. in the 900 block of 12th Street. According to investigators, the victim was walking on U Street when two suspects approached and demanded his belongings. Despite turning over his possessions, one of the suspects shot him before both assailants fled the scene.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Surveillance camera images of the suspects have been released by the police.
