Robbery Victim Shot by Gunman in DC Despite Compliance, say Police

WASHINGTON – A man was shot by a gunman after complying with demands to turn over his belongings during an armed robbery in the District on Saturday night.

The incident took place around 9 p.m. in the 900 block of 12th Street. According to investigators, the victim was walking on U Street when two suspects approached and demanded his belongings. Despite turning over his possessions, one of the suspects shot him before both assailants fled the scene.
