“ROBBERS KILL NEWLY-WED MAN IN FRONT OF WIFE” – Karachi man fatally shot in front of wife by armed muggers at Seaview

KARACHI, Pakistan: A tragic incident unfolded at Seaview within the jurisdiction of Sahil police station, where a newly-married man was fatally shot in the head in front of his wife by armed muggers. The victim, 25-year-old Muhammad Adnan, was a resident of Naval Colony in Baldia Town and originally hailed from the Kalat district of Balochistan. The young man, who split his time between Balochistan and Karachi for business, had been married for three months.

According to Sahil police, the couple was enjoying a meal at a restaurant near Dau Darya, Seaview, when two robbers on a motorcycle targeted them while they were engaged in conversation by the beach wall. When Adnan resisted the robbery, he was shot twice in the head before the attackers fled with their mobile phones, cash, and other valuables. The victim’s body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) by an Edhi ambulance. Family members, visibly enraged, refrained from allowing an autopsy, opting to inspect the body themselves.

In another incident, armed muggers looted wedding photographers near KDA Chowrangi in North Nazimabad. The robbers intercepted the photographers on their way home after shooting a wedding at a marriage hall, snatching a camera, a drone camera, a valuable mobile phone, camera lenses, and cash estimated to be worth around Rs1.6 million. The victims were also physically assaulted during the robbery, and various photographers revealed that such incidents have been occurring almost daily for several months.

These incidents shed light on the growing issue of street crimes involving armed muggers targeting innocent civilians and professionals, causing a wave of fear and insecurity. The frequency and audacity of such crimes raise concerns about the effectiveness of law enforcement and the need for increased security measures in public spaces. The tragic end to Adnan’s young life and the targeted attack on photographers highlight the urgent need for the authorities to address the rising threat of violent street crimes in the city.

In conclusion, the incidents call for immediate action to ensure the safety and security of citizens and professionals by addressing the root causes of such crimes and implementing strategies to deter and apprehend the perpetrators. The loss of Adnan and the trauma experienced by the photographers serve as a stark reminder of the importance of prioritizing public safety and protecting the well-being of the community.
