INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Authorities in Indiana have charged a woman with murder after she allegedly shot and killed a man during a road rage incident that was triggered by a simple car horn honk. The incident unfolded on October 17, when 21-year-old Kentrell Settles honked his horn at Deborah Benefiel, 23, who was reportedly stopped at a green light.
Witnesses say that after the honk, Benefiel followed Settles and confronted him in a aggressive manner before firing into his vehicle on Donald Avenue in Indianapolis. Settles sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators quickly identified Benefiel as a suspect and arrested her within hours of the shooting, utilizing advanced technology to analyze license plate data.
